Also using a variety of breads - mostly white/rye bloomers and some challah-like from a favourite bakery in Finsbury Park. So not at all "authentic" but it will be bread and mushroom soup.

I am not Jewish but oh! I deeply desire that challah pillow! DEEPLY!! (In the past, I even learned how to braid bread - I couldn't say if the challah recipe was authentic, but the experience of seeing the braided bread emerge from the oven, and the TASTE was... well, very happy-making.)

Yesterday I had the sandwich of dreams and what pains me the most is that even if I recreate it, I will never be able to recapture that first bite and the sensational taste. (Egg and braised fennel, with a dandelion, lemon, chervil and olive pesto on a challah bun if you must know)
