One of multiple parts of the Atlantic story that is one hundred percent true is President Trump’s frustration that the MAGAfied feds aren’t jailing nearly enough of his political enemies so u can read his words today in the context of liking his job title and wanting to keep it

BARTIROMO: Do you have anything to tell us about the 2020 election being rigged against President Trump? PATEL: Absolutely. I'm never going to let this go. They tried to rig the entire system. That's something I'm not going to allow. We are going to be making arrests. I promise you it's coming soon

This is bog-standard Proud Boys and Patriot Front stuff. This has been what the white right tells anyone with a podcast or a steno pad about their "movement" for a decade. Palantir just reported $570 million in revenue from US government contracts last quarter alone.

Extremely normal and fine for a company to put this in a public statement

21. Some cultures have produced vital advances; others remain dysfunctional and regressive. All cultures are now equal. Criticism and value judgments are forbidden. Yet this new dogma glosses over the fact that certain cultures and indeed subcultures . . . have produced wonders. Others have proven middling, and worse, regressive and harmful.

22. We must resist the shallow temptation of a vacant and hollow pluralism. We, in America and more broadly the West, have for the past half century resisted defining national cultures in the name of inclusivity. But inclusion into what?

Trump tells Iran that if they don’t agree to his “very fair and reasonable DEAL” the US will “knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran.“ Targeting civilian infrastructure is widely considered a war crime under the Geneva conventions.

so it was FDR, and @rauchway.bsky.social can correct me if i'm wrong here but it was arbitrary and something of a PR stunt. it was roosevelt saying, shortly after inauguration, that he was to going to spend his first 100 days really delivering for the american people

Ok, apparently this was FDR. IDC it seems arbitrary. You need to contrast the metric with what you are trying to accomplish. Imagine going up to a pregnant person and being like, "well you said you were going to have a baby where is it" at the 100 day mark. Doesn't makes sense.

this reminds me, i don't think SCOTUS should be allowed to choose their own clerks. standardize the hiring schedule, put the applications in a pool, blind reads (perhaps by a panel of former clerks) and random assignments.

Thomas isn’t going anywhere voluntarily. www.nytimes.com/1993/11/27/u...

Last year, in a conversation with two of his own law clerks, recent law school graduates chosen for their conservative views, Justice Thomas said he intended to remain on the Court until the year 2034.

Why that long? one asked. Because that would give him a 43-year term, he replied, according to the clerk's account, explaining, "The liberals made my life miserable for 43 years, and I'm going to make their lives miserable for 43 years."

I need to again stress that I want to be wrong here but: as we kept saying the night nearly two weeks ago when trump called off Armageddon supposedly, administration officials and others were telling us in real time: Don’t be fooled. Chances for trump escalating sharply are…

So typical of all you naive sheep to think Stanley Kubrick could not have possibly confessed his most closely held secret in The Shining (🌖 ) when that is clearly what Hannah Montana is doing with her famous song
