Once you internalise Kanji into your brain you start making doing things like unintentionally replacing a kanji with another one that sounds the same, I just heard 練習 (renshuu, training) in an anime and my brain kinda visualized 練 as 連 (both's onyomi is "ren") lmao

it's interesting because sinnoh seems to still use the language from old hisui, while in kanto they use similar but not quite the same one, kitakami uses a very similar one to hisui as well, maybe kanto just uses something like katakana and hisui uses mainly kanji but with its own symbols ofc

I wonder if Hyuuga Natsu (pseudonym of the author of Apothecary Diaries) is a reference to Hyuuga Natsume from Gakuen Alice?
Probably not since Natsu (夏) and Natsume (棗) have different kanji and different meanings (summer vs. jujube fruit)

Anyways the real jp crash course is all the jp websites that put text in images so I have to write the kanji into a dictionary app (shirabe jisho my goat) to find how to say it so I can type it into google translate ✌️😭. Bc sometimes google lens just says nonsense 😅

Interesting. I've been looking for an Okami T-shirt released for the 11th anniversary. Anyway, I went through the official account to find the right kanji and noticed they always announce anniversary merch 7 to 12 months after the anniversary date. Strange😂
