I know it can appear like that, as it does when they generalise about older people. Many young people have amazing knowledge which older people do not have, but they don't have as much lived experience. I love that they bring their knowledge, so I can learn, & I hope I bring some lived experience.

I saw about a dozen older people protesting ICE and the war in Iran in downtown Walpole Massachusetts today. Honked and waved. I was disappointed there weren't more of them out there, though.

It genuinely terrifies me that I was like “aha this guy has good points, time to buy his books and see if I can train my thinking to mimic his” when I was leaving high school, and older people are still doing that. Not that he’s scary, but I remember that “aha” feeling and how strong the pull is.

The latest State of World Population report from the UN sexual and reproductive rights agency (UNFPA) shows that around one in five adults worldwide believe they will not be able to have the number of children they want, largely because of economic insecurity, inequality and lack of support. But Michael Herrmann, an economist and demographer with UNFPA, cautions against panic. “Demographic change is not a crisis in itself,” he says.

Everytime i've been on the train the past 3 weeks it's been PACKED. There are kids with their bikes hopping off and on to get to places to play, I see so many more teenagers and older people out and about than I previously did. It's been so lovely!

When I speak to seniorish people in defence they scoff at any suggestion that AUKUS is bad, they say even if the subs aren’t worth it we get ‘way more stuff you don’t know about’. That dropped significantly when I had kids, but its slowly ramping up again as I earn more (through seniority). Again not having a social life outside family, allows me to spend on both my hobbies, wife and kids.

Full Disclosure: Many Orthopedic MD Office Waiting Rooms consist of Pickleball people with significant Knee Injuries. It's not a Sport that is beneficial for older people with Joint issues. I will never understand how this "Sport" is being sold to older retirees with high-risk Joint issues.

there is almost never a public outcry for cars and car infrastructure to be moderated, even when someone kills a child Allie Castner was 15 when she was hit in a crosswalk in Marblehead, MA in 2009. No road changes. A senior citizen was killed in almost the same spot a few years ago.
