Briefly repurposing Spidercam. Can't tell without disturbing her but I think we have eggs.

We bought a very sad orange snapdragon from the hardware store about six years ago. Because of the way they flop over and drop seed, he has ended up in a 15+ different pots since then. Fun plants.

πŸ•·οΈ on the 🏑
A tarantula, likely Texas Brown Tarantula (Aphonopelma hentzi) against blue grey wood trim. She's very hairy, abdomen like a bearded pecan, eight segmented legs like telescoping pipe cleaners, a cluster of eyes, much smaller than you'd think at the center and top of the head
Closer shot of the tarantula, coffee brown with tan highlights on the head, body hanging low surrounded by legs coming up then back down in arcs
Crop closeup, the cluster of eight eyes in shallow focus, aka the ocular tubercle, the head is fuzzy compared to the coarse larger hairs also in focus on a nearby leg segment

Sphinx Moth, hummingbird of the insect world. We have had so many this year. I think they like the frost grape vines and ash trees.
White lined Sphinx moth on the tip of an open palm before out of focus leaves. Very fuzzy little critter with a big eye that doesn't really look compound and two broad wings. Tan and brown with white lines running top to bottom. Adorable antennae
Top side of moth can see the white line pattern running through the arrowhead shaped wings. They are brown with a beige stripe running across each then perpendicular hashes of white. Where ailerons would be on a plane are almost grey.

Half a silhouette of a black cat's head, she's on her perch before a window where a female cardinal nests a photinia

Oh, hello
A Green Anole sunning on a misting tube strung through the roof pitch of a greenhouse. He's framed by some mandevilla vines twining around a nylon cord. Shot from directly below, we see his how he's really flattened out along the line, a big round belly, skin dotted with fine scales, a soft light creating a smooth gradient of tropical greens. The shadowy parts of his muscular little frog legs trend toward the same muted rosiness of the new mandevilla growth. His legs look almost like a person's legs except for the way his claws are wrapped perfectly around the black mist tube. He's looking down at the camera with a teal surrounded eye in a wedge shaped head that's creamy green on the underside.

Relocated a male black widow. Never seen one before. Also, spider season is upon us so mute the emoji if you're phobic! πŸ•·οΈ
About an inch and a quarter long spider (legs included) , legs alternating muddy red and black, abdomen three orange/red dots with white stripes coming off and around. In the bottom of a glass

Lantana blooming sequence 🌱
A 2x2 picture grid showing the progression of lantana blooms from greenish yellow tightly wrapped corolla tubes to fully open deep red and orange flowers. 1. Before opening they look like little rectangular presents ready to be unwrapped, just a blush of pink indicating the vibrance to come. 2. The tubes are still wrapped up tight but elongating and growing much more colorful. 3. The outer tubes have opened, a mix of red and orange, the center flowers still closed 4. All flowers open, color extremely vibrant. A spherical floral planetoid

A Green Anole lizard warming up in the morning sun after a cool night, camouflaged among a frame full of day lily leaves
Close up crop of the same shot, face partially shadowed, he's looking at the camera, the same color and shape as a blade of day lily, at least his top half before it transitions to creamy green. You can really see the individual tiny scales

Water droplets look like blood refracting the red rim of a new rose leaf
Serrated red edge of a new rose leaf makes water droplets appear red, a single one is clear due to change in angle and coverage of leaf tip

A Helleborus orientalis enjoying her first spring in this shady woodsy spot 🌱
A Helleborus orientalis bloom above its dark blue green foliage. Fully open flower, five wide almond shaped petals fanning from center slightly overlapped, color is a fine gradient from light greenish yellow to a rusty pink I'm not sure I've seen before. Below a second flower bud is on the rise, still closed for now. Background is blurred, a Hackberry tree trunk, scrubby deciduous woods
Center of hellebore flower closeup, that incredible speckled mauve dusted with pollen, bright yellow flower parts emerging, nectaries like tiny pitcher plants in a ring, anthers like light brown coffee beans, the styles long and tapering, trumpet outward from the middle
Top down shot showing off the glossy foliage alongside the bloom. Five leaves, palmate, serrated, almost leathery with light green veins running throughout. The evergreen perennial hellebore likes it beneath deciduous trees, winter sun, spring and summer shade
The flower from behind, morning sun giving a rim light to the petals, background bokeh coming from every ray of light peeking through the woods

Pipevine Jan 8th vs Mar 8th
Overhead shot of several pots with a few pipevine leaves stacked on same framing but now there are many happy Lily pad shaped pipevine leaves with pale green patterns like lichtenberg figures or snake skin

A red gerbera daisy flower soft light illuminating it's vibrant cardinal red ray petals that fan in a circle from center like a twirling dancers skirt. A circle of disc florets in the middle, fuzzy ring of red and white then a deep red center. The background is defocused other plants, a greenhouse wall,a second daisy turned away
Closeup of an older flower just starting to fade a bit but the disc florets are all open, making a furry circle dusted with pollen. The light on the ray petals shows off how they are slightly uneven in texture, soft ridges
A wider shot of the plant, four blooms open, on tall stems, one about 14 inches long, then two more blooms opening, on their way up, there's foliage in the foreground, light green potato vine, catnip, behind are rose stems

We now go live to the greenhouse for a look at some plants
Blooming Echeveria flower stalk like a shepherds crook, a stegosaurus back of pink drying blooms, the curl of the question mark, fresher denser smaller buds grouped like a snakes rattle
A snapdragon orange and yellow, riding out the cold snap
My wonderful little coral honeysuckle cutting is sending up shoots, the main stalk a papery twist of twine , to the left, greenish purple leaves unfurling, reptilian almost in their scaly pattern
Leprechauns gold Columbine, light greenish yellow leaves with grassy toned splotches, leaf shape irregular bordered broad fanning clover

Discovered what I believe to be aphid mummies today. Pretty metal. Lacewing for scale.
Underside of a gerbera daisy leaf. Dotted with puffy paper spheres, I believe they may be aphids parasitized by wasps. There is also a green lacewing, unrelated, well...he's there to eat some aphids too probably
