Ukrainian drone strikes hit Russian airfield, power infrastructure in Krasnodar region and Crimea
Ukrainian attack drones targeted a military airfield in Yeysk, in Russia’s Krasnodar region, overnight leading into Monday, July 20. According to Ukrainian monitoring Telegram channels , the strike triggered a fire, reportedly near a fuel storage facility. Earlier, Ukraine’s Forces of Unmanned Systems announced that six Russian air defense assets were destroyed overnight on July 20 in the Kuban region, including in Yeysk, as well as in Primorsko-Akhtarsk and the village of Kamyshevatskaya. Local Krasnodar emergency officials reported that a woman was injured in Yeysk as a result of drone debris falling in the area. The Forces of Unmanned Systems also reported attacks on seven power hubs in annexed Crimea overnight, claiming to have hit substations in Yalta, Morskoye, Privetlivoye, Luchistoye, and several other locations. The company Krymenergo said that following the latest drone attacks, electricity was “partially out” across western, southern, and eastern districts of the peninsula. Meanwhile, the state water supplier Voda Kryma warned that water supply would be “partially unavailable” in Alushta, Simferopol, Kerch, and the Belogorsk district. Since the spring of 2026, Ukrainian Armed Forces have launched repeated strikes on civilian infrastructure in annexed Crimea. Following a series of attacks on oil depots, power grids, and substations, a state of emergency has been in force across the peninsula since late June. Meanwhile, Russia’s Ministry of Defense said that its air defenses shot down 381 Ukrainian drones overnight, including over the Krasnodar region and the waters of the Azov and Black seas.
