Genomic sequencing shows that the Ebola virus from Nigeria’s recently reported only imported case is highly similar to that from Kenya’s

reported first imported case, differing by only one mutation.

Great news to see the clinical trial for BDBV Ebola launch. The trial is called Tumami which means hope in Swahili. an adaptive platform with a ring vaccination approach. It is starting with Ervebo the Zaire virus vaccine but BDBV targeted vaccines will be added later.

Science gives us hope. Today, in Bunia #DRC, the first participants were vaccinated in a new #Ebola vaccine trial called TUMAINI, which means “hope” in Swahili. There is currently no approved vaccine against the Bundibugyo virus causing the outbreak.
