Finding this cracking 1CY Isabelline Shrike with @scottinscilly.bsky.social at Carn Friars was a nice unexpected early birthday present today on a Scillonian day trip. The 9th Scilly record, it ended up giving prolonged views for the masses in the area around Porth Hellick Beach! #UKBirding

First calendar year Isabelline Shrike at Porth Hellick, Scilly. A small sand brown bird sites on top of a sprig of spiky gorse in the centre of the image with out of focus vegetation and grey sky in the background. The bird is facing away from the camera and is even, sandy/rufous brown with a long, apricot-coloured tail.
