Fifteen years ago, I was ranting about how “gamification” had very little to do with actual game design and how its development as a practice deliberately kept game designers out of the room in favor of marketers and phone games have been gamified to the point where the game has largely vanished

While on the post-PhD job market, I was surprised how many jobs were in the gambling industry. So much of modern game design is directly downstream from that. These games are, very literally, designed in a lab to manipulate you.

Take on Me filter in Godot!! Pen-and-ink style compositor effect with real vector polylines. Normal-Driven Hatching and Depth-Based Contours in Godot Compute Shaders. I've had the idea for a while now and decided to try it out. I'm very happy with the result. And it's fast too. #gamedev #godot
