When they filmed Wonka’s famous introduction scene, Stuart deliberately kept what was going to happen from the child actors. Julie Dawn Cole said she thought Wilder had injured his leg and was limping for real and their cheering was genuine. 36/57

The child actors weren’t told how Wilder was going to play the Wonkatania scene so they thought Wonka’s bout of madness was real. They were terrified Wilder had lost his mind at being in the tunnel, and their screams were real. 44/57

The opening credits sequence shows the inner workings of a chocolate factory production line. The footage was filmed was filmed at a Toblerone factory in Switzerland. 31/57

After a test screening, an audience member left a comment card which said the film treat the audience with "total disdain" with its "typical Hollywood" ending. “Terrible. More Hollywood BS. They would never survive” the card said. 33/36

Filming in the zero-gravity plane could only happen in 25 second bursts. The plane performed 612 dives, giving filmmakers 54 minutes of footage in a weightless environment. For some scenes the actors sat on see-saws that created an illusion of no gravity. 25/36
