can't see this backfiring www.geekwire.com/2026/sea….
For the first time in several years, there are indications that the worst may be over for the Seattle region’s battered office market — and artificial intelligence companies appear to be playing a leading role.

Just in case anyone is wondering if King County ever fixed their website...they did not! (This list of "related topics" includes one topic. There is no link, just this box.) publicola.com/2024/02/27/k...
A header that says "related topics" over a box that says "Best Starts for Kids (BSK) Best Starts for Kids is a King County voter-approved initiative to support every baby born or..." The box does not go to anything; it is just a box.

Justice Forral, a Spokane activist, suspects they were targeted for reasons beyond their participation in last year's June 11 protest. A police report obtained from a publics records request shows Forral may have been right, and that they were flagged with a “T3” code.

Spokane police to reform ‘temperament codes’

T codes were designed to warn police officers of potential dangers when responding to certain calls, but critics said they may have led police to target at least one activist.

Pretty dang proud of this voter's guide and all the work that the @theurbanist.org elections committee members put into it, if I do say so myself.

They're here... @theurbanist.org primary endorsements are out, just in time for ballots to hit your mailboxes. www.theurbanist.org/2026-primary...

Cedar Hall CONCERT HALL This is really freaking cool.
Seattle’s first dedicated chamber music hall planned for office tower
John Holloway, CEO of Seattle Chamber Music Society, described the opportunity to build a concert hall at the U.S. Bank Center as rare and unique as “a thunderstorm in Seattle” in an interview Thursday.

U.S. Bank Center’s location, close to other arts institutions including Seattle Art Museum, Benaroya Hall, Fifth Avenue Theater and Union Arts Center, plus its recent renovation, ample ceiling height and lower post-pandemic lease rates made it ideal for the organization, Holloway said.

“To build a concert hall in an existing space in an area that needs the revitalization, that has vacancy at a time when it's economically comfortable to acquire a space like that — everything just kind of lined up perfectly for us to be able to do this,” he said.

It is true that this gets tiresome and boring. Part of the job, unfortunately. SOAP and SODA zones don't work. Surveillance doesn't prevent violence. Continually caving to your police guild/ promoting police as a solution for all problems, you have a lot less money for other city services. Etc.

Even when the media *does* factcheck their claims, the right has realized that if it just says "yes it is" over & over again, long enough, the media will tire or bore of saying "no it isn't."

GOOD NEWS: Katie Wilson's proposed Seattle Transit Measure renewal will be maintained as a full ten-year, 0.3% measure after amendments to water it down were defeated. The council is still deliberating on other amendments, but those were the big ones on deck today.

The Seattle City Council's select committee on the city's transportation benefit district is kicking off now. This morning Katie Wilson's proposed Seattle Transit Measure renewal is getting amended before going to the voters. We're about to see how significantly.
