i'm done for today!! i hope you guys liked itš„ŗāØ
i know Thraux seems a bit overprotective right now, but deep down he's just afraid to lose the girls too :(
and here's a closer look at queen Lohea, if anyone is curious! š„°
Most days, he worries and wonders if heās doing the right thing with them. If maybe, he should be doing more. That night, he smiles to himself. The oldest girl is an awful lot like her mother, the most amazing woman he met, and he couldnāt be prouder of her.
So he talks to the painting of his queen on the wall. He tells her everything that happened, whatever heās feeling and, most importantly, everything their girls are up to lately. Today, the main subject is Zora and, as usual, he wonders how they would navigate this situation together.
Back to the palace, as he waits for news, king Thraux pours himself a drink and reflects on everything that happened. Every night, when heās finally alone, he talks. At first, he felt pathetic, but as the years passed it was the only thing the soothed the pain and made him feel a little less alone.
Both men watch as the princess and the guard make their way to the ship. Once again, Ephriell tries to vouch for Meephrus, guaranteeing heās the best man for the job, but the king barely registers it as heās too focused on his daughter.
They let go of each other when the captain announces everything is finally ready. Then, Thraux gives Meephrus a final warning, that sounds a lot like a threat, and Zora awkwardly stares at her feet, embarrassed by his attitude. The captain tries to step in, but the guard stays unbothered.
So she lets him hold her a moment longer, as itās been far too long since she allowed herself to be taken care of and he seems to need it. And thatās ok, because she needs it too.
The kingās heart swells with pride as he sees for the first time the woman she has become. He pulls her for a tight hug and softly asks her to be careful. Something in Zora shifts as she realizes the unshakable and brave man who has been her rock her entire life is just as scared as she is.
Realizing what Zora is thinking, Thraux quickly reassures the princess that he doesnāt doubt her in the slightest, heās just trying to help by offering options. Sheās grateful for his kind words, but she knows she needs to be able to do it without him there.
To her surprise, he proposes joining her. She knows it comes from a place of worry and love, but she canāt help to feel a bit hurt by the idea. When this whole thing started, he was the first to give her a push and say she was ready to do it. This is supposed to be her first big moment.
Itās clear King Thraux isnāt pleased with the latest arrangements, thatās probably what is delaying their departure, despite of what the captain claims. So when he asks to talk in private, Zora agrees, wondering whatās going through his head right now.
Like most men of Sixam, he is genuinely honored to meet their king, who unfortunately isnāt very impressed. Zora admires how deeply her father cares about everyone, especially those he loves, itās part of what makes him an exceptional king but she doesnāt appreciate his harsh tone towards the guard.
At their arrival, captain Ephriell introduces Meephrus to the king like a proud father, announcing his choice and the guardās recent accomplishments. Thraux attentively listens to him, arms crossed over his chest but his expression doesnāt change.
Zora canāt listen to what the captain is saying as sheās approaching them, but isnāt hard to imagine what itās about. When it comes to her and Mimnea, she knows the king is basically a force of nature and wonāt settle for what he thinks is less than ideal.
Captain Ephriell tries to calm him down without much success. He reinforces that everyone is doing their best and are determined to keep the princess safe, but with the sudden change of plans, King Thraux is exponentially more worried and considers joining her for the trip.
Zora follows the guard to the hangar quietly, still anxious with the turn of events. Then, she enters the workshop and is surrounded by noise as people work on various projects all around them. She can easily spot king Thraux across the room, talking to the captain and clearly tense.
That's all for today!āØ
I hope you guys liked them and the beginning of this story. It all came from a crazy dream I had last week and I've been working on it every since!
I'll see if I can make a feed later and I'll pin it on my profile!
Now, a pic of my favorite royal family to celebrateš
She also knows sheās capable of doing it. Even if she doesnāt feel like it right now. Maybe she doesnāt trust herself fully, but she trusts all the training her dad put her through. And if he thinks sheās ready, then she must be. She takes a final deep breath and turns to the guard, ready to leave.
She knows sheās supposed to be calm and collected, especially in front of others, but Zora feels sick. As she paces nervously across the room, the guard quietly watches her. Deep down, she knows Lumiensā presence was just her dad being overprotective, but still feels like this is too much to handle.
The news is like a punch to her stomach. Besides being the kingdomās most trusted soldier, Lumiens is the kingās number one advisor and the closest thing Zora has to an uncle. He wasnāt going just to ensure her safety, but also to act as a mentor for political matters if necessary.
Despite her harsh words, heās properly calm and polite, apologizing before introducing himself and delivering the message. Something about him feels awfully reliable and she
š¬šÆš°šøš“ heās the type of guy whoās annoyingly confident and gets things done.
Even though his voice is soft, she quickly turns on her heels, startled, and demands explanations without missing a beat. The guard stands perfectly still. If heās surprised by her reaction, he doesnāt show.
Almost two hours later, everything is packed and Zora is in her travel clothes, ready to leave. Alone in the big bedroom for too long, anxiety catches up to Zora and sheās too lost in nervous thoughts to notice the two soft knocks at the door before a young guard slides into the room.
And to this day, somehow, he always knows the right thing to say and exactly what she needs to hear, even when Zora herself isnāt so sure of what that may be. And all she needs in that moment is his gentle reassurance and the quiet yet solid pride he offers.
Now that she is older and has the knowledge of how much he does for their people, Zora does her best to stay out of trouble and not be a burden. She is old enough to deal with things and her dadās time is best spent with Mimnea, who needs him more than she does. But that doesnāt stop Thraux.
