We’ve seen time and time again that donations to (large) charities for education or political engagement has very little to no effect on the quality of life for trans people in the current climate.
What does make a difference? Material goods. Pizza. Money for housing, surgery, HRT.

I used to rent any anime I could get my hands on and make copies of the tapes then trade them with friends to get most of my stuff, but when I figured out torrenting it was a wrap. I would just download anything lol. I think I have a bunch fo it burned to dvd in a binder around here somewhere still.

I don't think housing has got worse, if you take a long view and look at conditions back in the days when we last had hard rent controls. Most homes today have central heating, fitted kitchens, etc.

Just received a $50 weekly rent increase amid stagnant wages.
The reason given is to “match area rates”, which are artificially inflated by real estate companies themselves.
They're greedily hiking rents as they please, exploiting the total lack of cheaper housing options.

This isn’t being insensitive. My husband has a disabled wife (me) who has to have a roof over her head. Rent doesn’t pay itself. Working at a law firm they have clients who are owed a fiduciary duty & can’t just not go to work.
They aren’t abolishing it. Lacks votes. Requires president’s signature

The failure is the failure to build enough housing that tenants get real choice in the market. Quality certainly wouldn't improve if landlords have no incentive to improve it.
