Wonderful!! My grandma died of it and my mom brain cancer, 62 and 53 respectively, what I wouldn't give to see them both at the same time - thinking, " arrival" . I'm very glad science is getting closer to this, and if I live long enough...for now- game dev which I do with atm Ue5.πŸ’•

Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight locks to 30fps in couch coop on Xbox Series X (and apparently even PS5 Pro), regardless of chosen performance settings and often can't even hold that in larger areas. Split Fiction, which is notably higher fidelity, runs at 60. Gods Unreal Engine 5 sucks.

Some devs take time to optimize the mess which is UE5. Don't know if Rough Core is on Switch or not, but it runs well on PC. A lot better than other UE5 build titles.

unreal engine was in part a return to performance stability, it did nothing to flourish modern game designs. there is a reason few open world games exist on unreal 4 and especially 5, and those that do do in fact look and run worse than competitors

you’re 22 you do not remember how badly unreal engine 3 gutted video graphics. while engines like cryengine, dunia, and mtframework brought modern features and stable framerates, unreal engine 3 was struggling to load textures and run at 30 fps

I'm not a final fantasy fan, I'm not a TMNT fan, I'm not an LOTR fan. I'm a magic the gathering fan. Or I was. As someone less invested now it doesn't feel like being a magic the gathering fan means much. It would be like being an unreal engine 6 fan. It's the substrate now, not its own thing.

Going through these to grab the old screenshots and upload them is making me want to make something 2D again too, even though I do that literally every day as my job. What's the best for that that has visual scripting, godot? Im guessing I cant 2D in UE5, unless...

Continuing with the electrical theme from the previous addition I've created the "Shock Field Generator". An attachment capable of generating far greater output for powering larger machinery. This increase in power also means it will damage enemies as well as stunning them. #UE5 #indiedev #gamedev

I have also managed to get TIF files setup for the base game and some of the DLCs. I will try to convert them from raw data into png heightmaps for unreal engine so that it is seamless and will work well for the video game company I choose in the future to work with.
