Absolutely false My local video store - My Neighbor Totoro needed a sticker explaining the bath scene was a cultural thing and totally fine. You needed ID to rent Faces of Death, Bubblegum Crisis, or Project A-ko because anime was for weirdos DBZ & Pokemon became popular in the VERY late 90s

This is bullshit. Dragonball, Sailor Moon, and Pokemon were ridiculously popular in the 90s. There was never a time in the US when people "hated and looked down on anime." At the most, there was a time when people were "unaware of anime."

Whether it be Zohran Mamdani or Abdul El-Sayed, the way the establishment nonchalantly kicks into high key screeching Islamophobia whenever a Muslim person runs for public office should be all you need to know about them.

I still subsidize every script filled at cost plus. We are getting closer to break even. Not there yet. And I’m all for Universal Care. What I’m against is thinking it will automagically work if M4A legislation is passed. We should be challenging pols to provide a plan.

But he specifically is against MFA/universal healthcare- cheap drugs is a good start but he also makes money off it, so it’s not wholly charitable work.

In 75% of US industries, fewer corporations control more of the business than 20 years ago. That's especially true in the food industry. Just four corporations control 54% of the fresh-cut salad industry, including Taylor Fresh Foods. We're seeing in real time the danger of monopolization.

Rep. Max Miller (R-Ohio) long maintained he wasn't impaired during a 2011 crash. But newly obtained toxicology reports reveal he had MDMA and Klonopin in his system. It's part of a 2,000-page trove of records we obtained about Miller, who is currently running for a third term.

Facing criticism that it had minimized the number of U.S. soldiers killed and wounded in the war with Iran, the Pentagon changed the way it reports casualties. The changes separated the casualty numbers into two separate web pages, potentially making it more difficult to tally the war’s full toll.

Remember: Wealth can’t be separated from power. Power begets wealth and wealth begets power. We're seeing in real time how the extreme concentration of wealth is distorting our politics, rigging our markets, and granting unprecedented power to a handful of billionaires.
