A nice discovery today: #ic2s2 keynotes are on Youtube! In particular, I think the papers listed by @lauraknelson.bsky.social in her keynote could form a great list for a CSS reading group. www.youtube.com/watch?v=N….

Another unforgettable summer! I was glad to present some of my recent work on "the impact of LLMs in society" at ACL (*3+1), IC2S2 (*2), ESRA, Youth in HD, and ICSSI. Here are the papers and posters:

It felt like 90% of all work at @ic2s2.bsky.social was on LLMs 😅. It was a great conference! @marckeuschnigg.bsky.social do you have numbers to substitute that perception?

Frauke and Munich (www.lmu.de/ai-hub/en/) is certainly one factor here. In Mannheim, it’s the group around @mstrohm.bsky.social. I was not at @ic2s2.bsky.social last month but I heard that it was more or less the one dominant topic there - not surprising.

yes it is, but de facto true. just came back from #ic2s2 , one of the main forums for scisci, and I can confirm this is still the case. in putting together the @euroscisci.bsky.social , we've been aiming at a more inclusive definition of the science of science

Back from #ic2s2 which was again a fantastic conference experience - congrats to the organizers! Some professors got a poster this time, which was actually super fun to design and present - haven't done it since my 1st year of PhD 16 years ago 👴

My first time at @ic2s2.bsky.social is one I won't forget 💫 I gave three parallel talks (🤯) and each of them led to insightful conversations with brilliant researchers from around the world. This conference exceeded my expectations. The computational social science community is fantastic 🫶

A Swedish summer and a conference! Our colleagues enjoyed the IC2S2 in Norrköping, and also seized the opportunity to catch up with former colleagues and guests of the MPIDR: @afcastr0t.bsky.social, Carolina Coimbra Vieira, Xinyi Zhao, @akbaritabar.bsky.social, Egor Kotov, Ole Hexel & Johannes Mast.

Last week I was in Norrköping for the @ic2s2.bsky.social conference! Had a great time listening to research from around the globe 🌍 Also presented some early results from a survey experiment about the influence of governmental AI on the trustworthiness of public institutions that use it 🤖

As much as I enjoyed ic2s2, I couldn’t not notice the hypocrisy of pointing out the lack of geographical diversity with a call to future organisers to pay more attention to this. Immediately followed up by the announcement of next year’s conference in the US.

Returning from #ic2s2 feels a bit like coming home from summer camp at 14: exhausted, inspired, and already missing the many new friends

Had an absolutely fantastic experience at #IC2S2! Last week, I presented a systematic literature review on approaches to image clustering in social science, identifying key concepts, methods, and challenges. It was great to connect with people working on similar topics and to see familiar faces!
