Thank you, Canada, for the service of Colonel Jeremy Hansen. NASA couldn't have carried out this mission without his expertise and professionalism. He's yet another example of how our northern neighbors and friends honor us with their excellence and grace.

This is wonderful news. Meanwhile NASA still hasn’t released the opportunity for their graduate fellowship. We are now two months past the normal deadline and there is basically no chance *if* they do release the funding opportunity any time soon that the money will arrive in time for the fall

NSF Grad Research Fellowship awardees were announced, & the total awards are back up to 2,599 this year after only 1,500 (1000 initially+500 later) last year! Congrats to all awardees, including 3 OSU astro undergrads and 6 UCSC Lamat REU participants!! 🎈🎉🔭🧪 www.research.gov/grfp/Awardee...

Hubble image of Arp 299, also known as NGC 3690. This image was taken in 2000 with Hubble WFPC2 instrument to study the merging galaxies' hottest and brightest stars in ultraviolet light. Credit: NASA, R. Windhorst, and the Hubble mid-UV team Source
Two merging galaxies form an orange and blue abstract butterfly shape. Within the shape are bright blue areas, which are clusters of young, hot stars. These are found in the center, the upper right "wing", and the bottom left "wing".

The “America First,” president wants to cut billions of dollars from American innovation and scientific research.   From NASA to NIH, no one would be spared.   We cannot let this budget pass. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

I’ve been trying to figure out why I’ve been obsessed with the Artemis II mission — more obsessed than I usually am with NASA stuff. This explains it! (IG: morganevelyncook)

This is a lot to grasp. For perspective, dropping NASA’s participation in Euclid is like giving away all of Hubble’s data and barring ourselves from ever looking at it. And that’s just one program listed here. 🧪🔭

These are the NASA projects that the Trump regime are terminating. Some provide vital data to monitor the weather and climate of the planet. Many are already fully operational and are to be discarded.

“It’s a special thing to be a human, and it’s a special thing to be on planet Earth.” The four astronauts of NASA’s Artemis II crew made an emotional return to Houston on Saturday, a day after splashing down in the Pacific Ocean at the end of their 10-day lunar journey. trib.al/1c1CtiJ

We have more details about NASA's planned Space Reactor-1, which will use nuclear-electric propulsion to travel to Mars. It will carry three Mars helicopters that will land via a novel "skyfall" technique. Science instruments on SR-1 are planned but TBD. 🔭🧪 www.science.org/content/a….
If successfully launched to Mars in 2028, the Space Reactor-1 Freedom craft would host a small nuclear reactor at the end of a long boom. Credit: NASA
