I was laid off in the spring and applied for SNAP benefits. It took over six months to finally get approved for $60 a month. By the time I was approved, I’d found a new job and didn’t need the benefits. I also live alone; feeding myself wasn’t a big issue. That won’t be the case with many recipients

These incredible fucking assholes. These application processes are already so deeply burdensome and frustrating. They are trying to starve people.

Trump's regime wants people to reapply for SNAP benefits, supposedly because they're cracking down on fraud and abuse. Americans should demand a re-count of the presidential election for the same reason. As for caring about abuse, I can't think of a more hypocritical group to make that claim.

I literally just had my yearly check-in and recertification in October. I am disabled, can't work, and am on SSI. I can't afford my medically mandated diet without SNAP, and reapplying is a lot of work, which is made harder by my disability and poor health. This is maddening.

These incredible fucking assholes. These application processes are already so deeply burdensome and frustrating. They are trying to starve people.

The intent of mandatory universal re-application is to find an excuse to reject every application that comes through. They intend to sunset SNAP, they want Americans to starve. Eat. The. Rich.

The Lying Thief want's a regime change in Venezuela for humanitarian reasons. Very humane, murdering people on international waters while destroying the lives of many hard working people in the US. Cutting off SNAP payments to needy people & firing people in their thousands. Humane????

Elon Musk could get a trillion-dollar payout while 42 million Americans watched their turn into SNAP benefits political pawns during the government shutdown. That’s not a system, that’s a moral collapse.

Families already recertify for SNAP every 6–12 months and states are prohibited against requiring random reapplications. Trump’s plan to “have everyone reapply” is yet another way to prevent our most vulnerable neighbors from putting food on the table. It’s shameful, illegal, and plain cruel.

Since the shutdown is over, SNAP benefits are back, but the GOP passed tax bill which takes $186 billion from the program, is projected to kick millions off in the next few months. New requirements will take food from those who need it to give tax breaks billionaires.🤬 thehill.com/homenews/nex...

I’m relieved that after a three week delay, Illinois families will receive full SNAP benefits on November 20th. We can’t forget that this pain was entirely avoidable – a crisis manufactured by President Trump who refused to send out benefits to hungry families.
