WWE running its first PPV head to head against AEW and it being one probably main evented by Cena vs Lesnar is the most WWE thing possible. They are going to make the difference between AEW and WWE very obvious.

WWE never delivers the audience they promise & WWE fans *only* watch WWE, so there's no additional benefit to a network. But they always find a new suit to swindle.

I feel like wresting fans dont quite understand that networks lose a lot of money on WWE. Fox tapped out. Peacock tapped out. USA went from 3 shows to 1. Netflix tapped out of the PLEs. Yes, they are great deals for WWE, but they're all losers for the networks.

There's a good chance WWE runs Brock Lesnar vs John Cena at this show too. I told you they were still reeling from All In Texas weekend. AEW embarrassed them & they're not over it yet.

I asked industry sources about the WWE/ESPN deal and the Paramount/UFC deal. Feeling is both really overpaid based on the current market, but bundling is the future and that will be the new carriage fee, which drove both massive deals.

PPV is nearly dead (a good thing for fans and these sports).
However part of me thinks the fun times I hosted or attended a PPV watch party. We are losing a good excuse to spend time with friends and family.

UFC PPVs are having their prices slashed to a small fraction of the current rates.
WWE PPVs are having their prices shoot up dramatically, albeit not necessarily for cable subscribers.
That's...a choice.
