Angelique Motton, 38, bundled up on the sidewalk near North Burdick/Eleanor Tuesday as temperatures were near freezing. She headed back to find her tent nearby a drop-in day shelter. She wasn’t sure where she would stay last night, unsure where her tent was at. #kalamazoo #housing #news #michigan

You think a footpath is just concrete? Think again. 🚶‍♀️ Every tree, light & green strip is a health intervention disguised as design. Cities built for walking & cycling give us longer, safer lives. 🌱Which city gets this right? #DesignForHealth #ActiveCities #SustainableUrbanism

A pleasure to catch up with Damien Egan MP and to meet the Fishponds Community Planning Group. Talking to local people underlines how important things like bus infrastructure and community space are - real priorities in this new chapter for the West!

I sat down with a Seattle city planner to discuss this project so long ago that I can’t quite remember when it was. 2010 when we took my stepson to visit Cornish? 2006 when I was in town on a makeshift book tour? The 1990s sometime? Anyway, glad it’s finally done.

In 1904, San Francisco hired Daniel Burnham to create a plan to redo the city with new roadways and civic buildings. Burnham was part of the City Beautiful movement, which sought to remake America’s cities into Beaux-Arts marvels.

I was having the most interesting dreams last night. Giant fuchsia flying robotic paying mantis shooting laser beams after landing on a mixed-use building. And that was just the end of the dream. It started, as you do, with a children's birthday party at a house where the family was nude a lot.

“the sound of heavy snow through pines no cars no engines” (November 12, 2025)
A square format, simple abstract watercolor sketch in a cotton sketchbook, that attempts (but fails) to do justice to the actual prompt, but somehow keeps trying because it creates more consciousness, and time. Maybe. Where can we go for breaks from the sounds and screens that we also somehow depend on? Sometimes, painting.
Lifting through tree shaped stencils. Lines removed, not painted on. Winter palette: French ultramarine, cascade green, and lunar black. White gouache splatters.

At the recent #Eastbourne Farmers Market in November, our volunteers made another big delivery, using our e-cargo bike, to local community fridges, of organic veggies kindly donated by some market stallholders. Using #zerocarbon transport to reduce #foodinsecurity. Win-win?

Maybe I’m too sykkeltwitter, but it’s weird to me that Norwegians don’t consider car ownership and road building a form of taxation.
