Working on the foundations of a new enemy for todays #NightmareKart dev thread! As status effects are a new feature of the DLC, this enemy will grant the new 'curse' status effect, which will invert the players steering. First off I added the curse to the S.E. system, and made the associated icon:

working on the snow castle some more for today's #NightmareKart dev thread! To start, I polished up the spiral staircase room, blasting a chunk of the wall out to further imply that it was under siege at some point, explaining why its now considered 'forgotten' I also added some chevrons!

Working on getting enemy NPC racer navigation set up for today's #NightmareKart dev thread! After painstakingly dropping 40+ nav points, they are now capable of racing through the snow castle race track, adding that iconic chaotic nightmare kart energy to the fray!

Worked on the VO for the train fight some more for today's #NightmareKart dev thread! I wrote a new priority system that will either ignore or queue up a VO line if it triggers while a line is currently playing depending on priority (Im aware of the music skip bug dont worry ill fix it soon!)

Did a LOT of work integrating the new VA by @tomschalk.bsky.social into the train fight for this #NightmareKart thread! Theres more lines in this one lvl than probably the entire main campaign so it was a doozy! *This is an unfinished WIP, dialogue cutting itself off & bad balancing are known bugs!

Working on the snow track some more for today's #NightmareKart dev thread! To start, I changed the first stair room so it isnt an identical layout to the second stair room, changing it into a curved staircase (which'll be lower poly in the future) which feels more natural to do a turn around on.

Doing more Snow Castle rooftops for today's #NightmareKart dev thread! I added boost pads at the edge of the roof to signal to the player that it's safe to drive off of. I also found that the racer can fall in between the roof railings, so I added a little boost pad there as well!

Working on the snow castle level some more for today's #NightmareKart dev thread!!! Most of today's work was spent making interior, non snowy versions of the various textures. I also added a carpet on the stairs, and widened them. Next up is making those snow particles turn off when inside!!

polished up the beach level's geometry for today's #NightmareKart dev post! Every sand bar and island now has fully closed off geometry; no more random geo holes! I also fixed a lot of collision errors as well, meaning this level is now ready to have all the race mechanics added to it!
