@eadh2026krakow.bsky.social After DH2026's talk on Atwood & Alderman's uncanny stylistic convergence, Karina van Dalen-Oskam and I are headed to EADH in Kraków. New target: Cristina Dalcher, whose novel echoes The Handmaid's Tale. Computational methods reveal intriguing—but not simple—evidence.

Ha! Let me clarify (bc I just re-read my skeet) -- I'm arguing FOR the funding, development, and focus on SMALL DATA instead of the big data push that #dh passed around the field & to grad students #DH2026 Currently at #ADE scholarly editing @elaboratories.bsky.social conf where e/o already agrees

Here is my #DHmakes at #DH2026 virtual attendance bookmark. It was fun to mark different colors per session! First time doing this kind of data visualization but made me think I want to explore weaving more often.

So farewell then, Seoul, and Korea. I had a blast at #DH2026 and after (altho you are as hot as a furnace!) Friendly people, great food, and lots of K-culture to explore. Good times. Now homeward!

As I look back on #DH2026, I keep returning to the memorial table we prepared for Professor Natsuko Yoshiga. Amid a week filled with learning, friendship, and joy, we also shared a profound loss. Her passing will stay with us for a long time. May she rest in peace.

One of my favorite moments from #DH2026 came while I was helping our Local Organizers with the children's atelier. Seeing the wonderful childminders with the children was such a healing moment amid a busy conference week. And they surprised me with this precious bracelet. 💚

This genuinely made my day. Thank you for turning one tiny statistic from my slides into something so thoughtful and beautiful. Every green owl stands for the people who made #DH2026 possible. 💚🦉 #DHmakes

For Misun Yun, I ran with the slide that noted there were 40+ volunteers. So I highlighted 40 owls in green thread like the green volunteer shirts. #DHmakes #DH2026

Thank you to everyone who made #DH2026 memorable—participants, reviewers, keynote speakers, volunteers, organizers, and friends old and new. Now that it’s over, I’m in that familiar post-conference relief and melancholy, decompressing with an unreasonable amount of spicy food.🌶️ Until next time. 💚

And just like that, the #DH2026 week is over! Whether online or on-site in South Korea, it was truly wonderful to see the DH community come together around so many different projects, ideas, and people. We're grateful for all the interest and thoughtful feedback on our contributions. 🙏 (1/2)

I need to thank the DHd, the digital humanities association of German speaking countries, for awarding me a grant that allowed me to participate in this #DH2026 without their support this would have never been possible. Thank you!

This #DH2026 has been a great experience where I got to learn about other projects working on similar topics and methodologies, but also it has been incredible to learn from another culture, with vegan food and museums! I am going back home with many ideas for projects and new collaborations!

After a great #DH2026, @martin.rocek.dev and I are preparing for the next workshop and meet with local scholars in Tokyo to present our DH projects and tools, manu.is and translucens.humanities.tools. And this is the view!
View from a hotel window at sunrise over Tokyo. High-rise office buildings frame the scene, with the sun low on the horizon beneath a partly cloudy sky. An elevated highway crosses the foreground, while the Tokyo Skytree rises in the distance above the surrounding skyline.

#DH2026 was a wonderfully organized conference. Things that I'll remember: the kindness of strangers; the sunset over the misty mountains; the music; the trees ❤️ Meeting people familiar and new. For now, time to return and hope I can come back to SK some day. 감사합니다 @dh2026daejeon.bsky.social.

A lot fewer children than the science museums! Maybe a better choice. Though I do get occasional blasts of lukewarm air conditioning. Also thanks to all involved with at any level #dh2026
