Fun fact. If your database can handle 1 million INSERTs per second, then you can insert the entire atproto public network into your db in 6-7 hours. If you dont include the likes, it'll take about half as long

Tell you one thing for sure: the Atmosphere is growing
Monthly downloads metric for a package that's a common dependency among all atproto packages (which makes it the best indicator for the js ecosystem since we recently reworked our sdks)

Heck yessss, this is out and yall get to hear my somewhat spicy opinions. But now I need to get serious about writing the posts I may have mentioned here

Why is a Nubian waterwheel a perfect metaphor for building sustainable community technology? @kandake.africa has the answer. atproto.com/off-protocol...

Spent some time tinkering with @bulleted.app on the weekend. This is great @ngerakines.me! There’s a bunch of other stuff hidden in there too - like allowing others to add their own bullets at the level of an outline tree! I haven’t even worked with permissioned data yet! bulleted.app

One outline instead of folders and files. Every line is saved to your own account, so it leaves when you do.

We have this running on @commonscomputer.com (minus the container registry) but put the source code on a gitea install externally. Great to see this being documented!

cove.town now has a cute little landing page

This is item number #23992 on why a monolithic appview is bad. I expect we'll introduced a permissioned space per user to store details like this as by keeping it appview specific we have issues with credible migrations across the ecosystem. This solution feels more like a hack and

We're aware of moderation mutes/blocks not being respected in the app. This is due a technical limitation where they are private _to the appview_ and so blacksky appview isn't aware of them. We're testing a fix to resolve this. If you'd like to help us test, enable Beta Features under Settings

Oh hey, that's me! ✨ I'm excited to keynote @codebeam.bsky.social in Haarlem in October this year πŸ‡³πŸ‡±πŸŽ‰ I'll be talking about local-first software, a paradigm that hands power back to users β€” in an era of otherwise ever increasing control and disempowerment

Brooklyn Zelenka will speak about building for a disconnected world in her keynote "Let It Disconnect: A Local-First Future" at Code BEAM Europe 2026. Assume network failure. Design for user agency. Talk: codebeameurope.com/keynotes/let... πŸ“… 21-22 Oct | Haarlem, NL codebeameurope.com#register

Is there a webring of known PDS operators? Something that you could use as an info page if someone is trying to create an atmosphere account.
