everyone who is mean about British food has simply never known the pleasures of drinking custard every day for one hundred years

This could fully pass for something on Clickhole, but it’s real, and I love it. Even down to his name.

A bbc Instagram post picturing a very old man drinking custard from a Bird’s Custard jug with the caption “That's my secret to a long life: custard, custard, custard... You can't beat it. I have it every day and I want it every day.

Catnap. Walked around this dozy cat in the middle of the pavement yesterday. Love the idea it surrendered to the moment; suddenly feeling sleepy and deciding “yup, this is happening…and it’s happening right now.” We can learn a lot from cats.

I was explaining to my Ukrainian colleague the phrase ‘There’s no such thing as a free lunch’. She told me the equivalent in Ukrainian is ‘The only free cheese is in the mousetrap’ - which is so much better

One thing that I have learned over the years is that often when I thought I messed up a social interaction, the other people involved never even noticed. Unless you did something memorably weird (which I have done on occasion) it’s almost certainly already forgotten.

Due to keyboard layout I tried to write “personal brand” and instead wrote “personal beans” and I’m afraid this is canon now

I’ve been practising hand-manipulating techniques on the rigid heddle loom using an online class by Kelly Casanova and came up with this cotton scarf that is a combination of Mexican lace and plain weave. #craftsky #weaving #leno #mexicanlace

Is it a background parameter, a dynamic aspect of spacetime, or an emergent phenomenon? (Second panel) Precise. PERSON 2 with short hair [device with equation below: 71Ga + νe → 71Ge + e- .] Why does the *S.A.G.E.* Gallium Neutrino Capture Experiment produce only 75% as much germanium as predicted? (Third panel) Cursed. PERSON 3 with white hat [rectangular block with hairs growing out of it labeled Zinc Whiskers] Why does some metal randomly grow hairs? It keeps causing short circuits and we have no idea what’s going on. OFF-PANEL: Is this a joke? PERSON 3: No! Please help!

In #JapaneseFolklore there is a strong link between kitsune (foxes), agriculture and the worship of Inari. Inari is a kami (deity) of rice, farming, the harvest, and fertility, among other things. The worship of Inari became connected with foxes around... #LegendaryWednesday 🎨Tatsuya Kosaka 1/3

With our 24 lbs of black cherries, mom and I have made: dried cherries, popsicles, juice, frozen yogurt, and (the prettiest, I think) sorbet. Still to come: pate de fruit, fruit leather and curd!

My nephew was getting frustrated trying to draw me a house to build in Minecraft so I thought I'd teach him about isometric drawings and do a little sample. I'm not sure if it will be *less* frustrating but it'll be different!
A pad of isometric graph paper with a drawing of a basic plains village house from Minecraft. Next to the pad are three Faber-Castell technical pens.

For those asking me about the wrapper I used in #FoundObjectArt I posted recently, an #ArtProcessVideo showing how I used a #Lindor chocolate wrapper, Pentel Pocket Brush, & a white gel pen to create this winter skater. A bookkeeper once told me I could claim chocolate as a biz expense. 😉 #Uplift

My having access to my mother’s woodshop means that my kid can commission totally badass swords from me and I will absolutely make it happen.
Child’s pencil drawing of a sword with a design that includes a dragon head spitting flame for the blade and a hilt that is a bone.
Wood carved into a sword similar to what the previous drawing instructed, surrounded by red plastic gemstones
The sword being painted
The finished sword, painted blue and green and white, with a cord wrapped handle and a red gemstone eye
