Chillaxing California Sea Lions (Zalophus californianus), Ensenada, Baja California, MX. #mammals 🌿
Side image of a group of a dozen o more sea lions, most of which are out of the water and crowded on a rectangular floating dock in the marina. It's a bright sunny morning and many of the sea lions have their heads thrown back and their snouts pointed upward. In the water next to the dock, the flippers of several more sea lions are sticking up out of the water. In the background is a small sailboat and a rock jetty runs across the top of the image.

After Lilibet was predated this summer, it was up to Dad to care for their 3 pups. “Dad” is a wild-born marmot who arrived at Lilibet’s colony shortly after her release in 2024. Now he will be responsible for guiding his 3 pups through their first hibernation on his own.
