We all have energy as children however as we age, regular exercise is required to maintain that level of energy, likewise the “creative muscles”. Tech manchildren have not exercised their creativity in this capacity in what often amounts to decades. AI appears to them like a supersuit to instantly overcome that handicap, or a hyper charged go-kart allowing them to go the distance. The reality is closer to a remote control toy. Their assumption that their barrier to the arts is a honed set of skills misses the mark entirely on what makes art what it is (or isn’t, if you’re one of those woo woo types who doesn’t like to define art). The barrier, if you can even call it that considering said Instagram artists, is more mental and abstract, further illustrating how atrophied their thinking in this arena is. In seeking an Alexandrian solution to the knot of art they have simply payed something to draw a knot in the sand. These emperors have no clothes and are standing in my sunlight and really should move. I’ve got my morning stretches to do, besides this Diogenes metaphor
