And if you’ll be taking on remote students, do tell. Sorry the hunt was frustrating but your diligence has come through. Talent will out!

Several immigrant detainees at so-called "Alligator Alcatraz" described high tension and anxiety at the remote, hastily constructed facility over a lack of information, recreation and access to medication. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/1….

Anyone know where I can download observational and observed sounding data files. I am looking for the hard files, not a remote connection/OpenDAP.

Ok, I'm done on this computer. I've been sitting here with minimal breaks for 12 hours. Tomorrow is my remote work day, and the season premier of Strange New Worlds is tomorrow night. Friday is @lizzschunn.bsky.social birthday, so I'll be avoiding online. So for now, be excellent to each other.

Makes me nuts that you think we say "aboot". Never heard anyone in my sphere say it. Maybe in some remote areas?

I agreed to popularity contest, but we’re not talking about being invited to a rich kids party or what car you drive. Like stack overflow GitHub status is gained by providing knowledge and community, which is exactly what a college board should consider

This is posted to have vulnerability, and honestly just to help myself express the grief in ways that help it move along. It’s not something that magically disappears, but lives in layers of the body for years and years. How we express and give it space is how it softens. So this is part of that.

to come to a conclusion that makes sense. we’ve trusted the government for far too long and we got lucky that there were some patriot stalwarts in place to keep things “normal”. what happens when you allow corruption to overflow without accountability is what we have now. the wild west.

Over the years I've been to a lot of fishing camps and other remote sites. There's always a radio on (even at night to make noise for bears). I've never seen anyone cutting fish with their cell phone always on. It could happen, but I wouldn't want to put it anywhere near my mouth afterwards.

unfortunately that's more an example of him buying into an extremely popular branch of pseudo science. but once he got super wealthy that vulnerability to hokum led him completely off the rails.
