If the W Social app is not showing that robot icon, I suspect that they did the fork before this feature was released, or they actively removed it
It's a label that the account needs to turn on manually inside the settings
As soon as it's turned on, the icon appears (I'm using Witchsky app)

Some humans are using the bot label, as a joke idk (like the one in your print, it's a real human, not an AI bot), and anyway, only good actors are using it on their bots
I've been spammed this week by AI bots created to manipulate engagement, and they are trying to pass as legitimate accounts

The bot label in this case is self-declarative and optional (for now at least, in the future Bluesky might require all bots to have the label). Inside the Bluesky app (and forks), you can add or remove it anytime from your account.
The account has this little robot icon next to it.

What is irking us is the lack of transparency from W Social, behaviors that aren't usually a good sign for an open source and open software community (many past cases ended up badly with similar behaviors), and how they are constantly making false promises according to their current audience

I have all the reasons to hate Tools for Humanity with all my heart, I absolutely don't trust anything related to them
Anyway, I would never be hostile to W Social users, they are not at fault here
The criticism needs to be targeted at the W Social team

And by "us" I mean the atproto community (including devs and enthusiasts). I'm not even from Europe, my PDS is hosted in Brazil, but some things can affect the whole network
Oh, and *personally* I really despise the fact that they have as an Advisory the Chief Privacy Officer from Tools for Humanity

But anyway, the main point of this thread was to show a real proof of what most of us criticising W Social are questioning for some time: their system of ID validation is not the solution to achieve their promises (and basically they keep creating false expectations to their audience/users)

The thing is
- Mu never promised to be a "bot-free app/network"
- Mu shows accounts from all PDSes, not only Eurosky PDS, so that point is no different from any other app for atproto microblogging (being W Social or not)

I'm trying to figure out a way to not spam here, since I'm using chat messages to detect which stream I'm watching to share, but if it activates for every message, wouldn't be good
So far I keep turning it on and off manually

It may sounds weird but
A way to limit, restrict, even more the execution by a certain time frame (example: only run this once per hour)
It's a very specific need for one template of mine 😁
