New from me in @thetimes.com this morning, in print and online, a look at some of the harrowing details of abuse and generational trauma inflicted on #Finland's Indigenous Sámi people by the state - and how Prime Minister Orpo thinks it's time to say sorry. #Sápmi www.thetimes.com/world/eu….

New from me: Once again Trump launched racist attacks against an immigrant community. He does it because these are his views, because it gets him attention, and because he builds power by inciting harm and violence. www.altrightdelete.news/p….

Cleveland Browns QB Shedeur Sanders accounted for four TD and nearly pulled off an improbable comeback against 2025 first overall pick QB Cam Ward and the Tennessee Titans. Here’s a breakdown of both rookies’ performances in my latest for CBS Sports: www.cbssports.com/nfl/new….

New from me - It's not clickbait, it's not a gag, this is for real. The end of TFW!! has come. You can read about some of the reasons why here, including a growing disillusionment for keeping what I write strictly in the realm of FGC stuff. It's been real! themsfightingwordsblog.co….
"To make it as simple as possible, there are two major happenings that have been slowly sinking my enthusiasm to continually write about the broader fighting game communities and their foibles. They aren't new grievances and I've written about them before, but in this difficult year I've had a lot of time to reflect on what I want to keep doing with my time, and these keeping sticking in my craw. I will never have an answer that fully satisfies my problems and that's okay. I'm not looking for one either; I'm more than willing to let bygones be bygones and leave it at that. What I can't abide, however, is contininuing on as if they haven't fundamentally altered how I feel about FGC stuff as a whole and keep producing the same blog year after year. Change is inevitable, and I'm on a straight line - as a wise man once said, ain't no gettin' offa this train we're on.

Toward the end of the Cretaceous, a stretch of shoreline in what is now Bolivia was a magnet for theropod dinosaurs (3-toed & bipedal meat-eaters). My latest for @cnn.com is about the first scientific survey of this site, where paleontologists recently counted more than 16,000 theropod tracks 🧪

New from me in @jacobinmag.bsky.social. It has not always been the case, but there’s definitely now a debate on the left on the topic of nuclear energy. I tried to compose the most compact “case for” on climate, labor, and reliability grounds (as well as answer the questions posed by critics).
The Socialist Case for Nuclear Power

The Socialist Case for Nuclear Power

Nuclear energy is still regarded with skepticism. But nuclear power’s critics wildly overstate its dangers, and preserving and expanding this energy source is essential to a just green transition.
