Meh. Gore rejected the only version of a recount where it might have gone in his favor, and the Florida Supremes were being shamelessly partisan in trying to lock down a win for Gore. Remember, the vote against the FL Supremes was 7-2. Only the *remedy* was 5-4.

Bad campaign. And speaking for myself, I thought her implication that Biden was a racist was reprehensible. I thought it was a mistake to pick her for VP, precisely because I never thought she could win a national election if it came to it. But here we are.

The winner-take-all nature of the electoral college is ridiculous. The sensible answer is a proportional distribution of electoral votes based on a candidate’s votes in that state, but that is essentially the same as direct vote so why have an electoral college?

The NPVIC is probably unconstitutional and the first time it goes against what you want you'll howl for your state to leave it. (Trump won the popular vote last time. Do you think he should have gotten New York and California electoral votes?)
