I don't know how else to understand why they'd forgo the 18 and 22 weighting that was accurate and apply weighting to account for 20 and 24 polling errors.

I want to look at polls but I no longer have the ability to feel hope or joy.

I hope they let us have democracy hāngī if the other lot get in. Maybe next time? Although I always go to the church polling place, it's closer than the marae

This is quite something. Polling firms seem to be assuming that there's shy Trump voters or low engagement voters that just turn up to vote for Trump who will go to the polls on election day and vote GOP even though Trump isn't on the ballot? Is that what's happening here?

um guys...

This time? Well, look for yourself. Here’s what our final polls this year would show if we had used the weighting from prior cycles:

Michigan: D+16 (today’s actual published result is D+11)

Alaska: D+6 (actual D+2)

Iowa: D+4 (actual D+1)

Kansas: D+10 (actual D+5)

Maine: D+5 (actual D+6)

Ohio: D+11 (actual D+5)

Texas: D+9 (actual D+7)

I am old enough to remember 2025, when Spanberger and Sherrill blew past even the most optimistic polling predictions and both won by double digits.

#nmesp i love the through-line of using public opinion as a way to control and punish. youngjo and compton obviously use it on garam for their own goals but i cant actually remember if hj does rn hm

Sadly, if there’s one thing I’ve learned being a US citizen, is that elections are not over until they’re over. I’m certainly feeling much better about El-Sayid and Dems as a whole, but polling has burnt me too many times to expect anything to be “in the bag” until the race is officially called.
