I love cait sith even if he's.... kind of really bad as a party member..... generally I did enjoy the music/characters though! I liked how much detail was behind character-specific dialog based on who was at the front of your party. I'm looking forward to playing Remake/Rebirth to see more of them

Deltarune Ch. 3-4 (I forgot to rank these lol) A noticeable leap in quality from Ch. 1-2. While I'm glad there's at least a *window* for when we should expect to see more, I think my most scathing criticism is that I simply wish it was "finished" so I could rate it higher. (8.8/10)

(for the record, despite ff1 scoring lower, i would still put it around the same baseline as 7, it has other stuff going for it that keep it from being a "bad" game but i could imagine how folks could see it as one with how dated 1 is in particular)

-and more like a baseline, I don't think it's an amazing game, I don't think it's a bad one either. I would comfortably put 7 as my "gate" game for the series, you have to be ff7 or better to be a "good" final fantasy. You cannot be any worse than ff7 and still be "good".

Maybe that's not doing it a great service, I enjoyed a lot of aspects of 7, it's clearly trying a lot of new ideas both mechanically and narratively for the first time in the series, but having seen the peaks and valleys of most of the rest of the series by now, it feels less groundbreaking-

Final Fantasy 7: A Thoroughly good game that barely misses the mark of a "great" game. It has its ups and downs, it has its pacing issues, and I can definitely see why it holds a special place in people's hearts. But it didn't quite grip me with the same intensity. (7.9/10)
