Just watched the first episode of Alkallatt+ on Netflix. Genuinely impressed, it’s interesting to see Netflix producing Saudi Satire like this.

Spanning from the desert to the city, this offbeat comedy anthology tells unique tales of desire, ambition… and those tempted enough to seek them out.

Goddammit, Netflix. Regretting the ONE MONTH I bought to re-watch Midnight Mass. (Which is, in my opinion, underrated.)

Netflix says roughly 300 titles on its platform used generative AI, most of which occurred in post-production.

It’s also interesting to see Netflix start to come after YT’s podcasting viewership, but as you said they’re not getting that content for free and will never match YT’s long tail www.hollywoodreporter.com….

Honey Don't, was a trainwreck, from start to finish. A film that had no redeeming features whatsoever. Not matter how much I wanted to like that film as camp, but it was abysmal.

YouTube is awful for any sort of live TV event. They don't know how... it's not different, it's more like an old cable channel than Netflix is. Same with Fubo or Sling. You pay and you get a particular set of network channels and some movies. The future is choose your programs, but far away.

ATARI sign there, reminding me of the "Blade Runner Curse", where several major companies who paid to have their names advertised in the film didn't make it to 2019, in most cases, nowhere near. Atari and Pan-Am are the most famous examples. #TheFilmCrowd

The Odyssey 2026: Ironically meandering & uneven Visually spectacular When it's good it's magnificent But, whole parts feel wasted, unexplored & rushed. Not all dialogue & casting works (no, I don't mean them) Held together by a clever ambiguous thread Probably the only Nolan film I've liked

They’re talking 35mm here over 18 hours so if it bears out it’ll be a big help. The pooling areas under the footbridges on the Belliveau Cove trail have water under them which is better than last year. We’re considered in extreme drought but it’s been worse.

Tonight’s film: White Chicks (2004) Directed by Keenen Ivory Wayans #WhiteChicks #KeenenIvoryWayans #TheWayans #Comedy #ComedySky #NowWatching #Filmsky #Moviesky
Standing outside are two blonde white women holding pistols, they’re both holding up FBI badges with two black men as the photo IDs. Behind them is a police car, a New York cityscape under a bright blue sky. There are yellow caution tape above and below them. At the top is the movie’s title “White Chicks”

To be fair, a couple years prior I'd talked him into going to a jazz concert that we ended up walking out of. It wasn't as bad as the movie, but much more expensive and disappointing.

By comparison, this film clearly has a much smaller budget and feels like a stage play. Also feels like it's speed running plot points that the later American version took it's time with. This film opens with the wife already being mentally tortured by her husband.

Yeah, I'm, like, yes, the ethnicity thing is a Hollywood artifice to make mainstream Americans more comfortable, and you can criticize it as inaccurate but must recognize that the white actors are equally as inauthentic as the black actors. Realistically, they should all be Greek.
