Anyone in the Seattle bike community feel free to yell something like "It's illegal and inconsiderate to park on the sidewalk, have some respect for your neighbors" when you ride by on 21st Ave SW. Would be quite fitting if their sidewalk parking means they can't enjoy their outdoor space anymore.

These three are at the top of my mind when I think about sidewalk parking brain rot. Fortunately the nice weather means I can yell at them whenever I ride by and they’re outside.

Three nearly identical SUVs parked on the sidewalk

This is taking me back to grad school when I bike-commuted on the Burke-Gilman trail and there was a Rainier cherry stand right on the trail near U Village. They were ripe, delicious, and pretty cheap. I’d buy a bag and gobble them all up within ten minutes of getting back to my apartment.

Short Interurban Trail closure in Pacific, WA, starting tomorrow. Utility work for repaving Ellingson Road and constructing a direct Trail crossing of Ellingson instead of the 20-year-old detour onto the sidewalk. This closure is just the utility work, paving and crossing coming soon. #SEAbikes

Also I’m sure drivers will be totally reasonable and courteous around class 3 family e-bikers who will ride on the road next to a bike trail (part of the Burke Gilman, Eastrail between Woodinville and Redmond, etc.)

The #MissingLink of Seattle’s Burke–Gilman Trail has been unbuilt for decades. A recent proposal would improve access to the 17th Avenue Greenway, while also introducing too many conflict zones along busy corridors. Send your feedback to @seattledot.bsky.social ! actionnetwork.org/letters….
