To this day whenever I eat Mexican food I mutter to myself "beans and rice is nice!"

More days like this please
#OnThisDay 1930: the BBC's news announcer said, "there is no news" and piano music was played for the remainder of the 15 minute segment.

A Google search suggests it's possible to use Libby in combination with Calibre, but I've never used it myself sorry

One must maintain the perceived meaning of emojis, otherwise, what are they for? 🧐

I'm not a religious person, but I've been more interested in the old biblical stories since I really realised just how radical it is to tell people "do not kill."

And I would definitely expect a PC loaded to _keep working_ with the files/features it used to support, even if I can't get new features or whatever. Windows doesn't cut off my internet access when it stops shipping updates.

There is quite a difference between an Ereader with extremely limited functionality needing to receive and load about 3 standardized file formats- and an entire operating system.

Does it work with Libby? That's where I get most of my books (library app) - but they link to Amazon to get to ereader as far as I can tell.

I make heavy use of Libby for ebooks. But I live in a small apt (limited book space), travel often, & live in a non-English-speaking country (very limited secondhand options, both to buy & sell). May not be unusual but is still unacceptable.

Still nothing meaningful happening in BA.3.2 sequences. Spike mutations are rare & fleeting. One interesting thing today: ∆T676, reminiscent of the ∆675-676 some months back in Australia. Similar deletions ~nonexistent pre-BA.3.2. More proof the BA.3.2 spike is different. bsky.app/profile/ryan...

FWIW, there was also a large NYC upload just posted. Same trend as always: BA.3.2 — 23/54 (42.6%) ages 0-17 non-BA.3.2 — 24/209 (11.5%) ages 0-17

They definitely have the data. I don't think there's any doubt that they'll find the same thing we've seen in every country: a hugely disproportionate share of children among BA.3.2 sequences. But they always have the best reports & analysis, so it will be nice to have that kind of confirmation.

SARS-CoV-2 sequences submitted today w/age data: BA.3.2 — 15/17 seqs ages 0-17 non-BA.3.2 — 5/20 seqs ages 0-17 From South Korea & USA, MD. BA.3.2's propensity for children undeniable at this point. Not sure there's any point belaboring it anymore. Awaiting @ukhsa.bsky.social BA.3.2 report.
