Summary:
two times gold medalist jeon jungkook announces retirement

when asked about future plans, jungkook is very succinct: i think i need to move closer to the sea, and be left alone.

Notes:
the little mermaid yes but also lightly (like very lightly) inspired by a book by jade song called 'chlorine'.

trigger warnings: some body horror/monster-ish transformations, mentions of blood, mentions of drowning.

Summary:
“I need to go,” Once again, Jimin tries to communicate through gestures. He points to himself and then to the door.
This time, Jeongguk growls. A sharp shiver runs down Jimin’s spine, and he instinctively takes another step back. Before he can move away, Jeongguk pulls him back against him and presses him against his chest.
Jimin goes still, too terrified to move, and Jeongguk drags his nose through his hair again, scenting him, letting out soft, meaningless grunts. The alpha’s hands slide along his back, moving down until they settle on his hips.
It’s impossible to ignore the fact that they’re both naked.

or Jimin gets lost in a storm and ends up at Jeongguk’s house, the feral alpha of the pack.

I guess i should tag this as #btsfics I'm in the planning stage of this, but I want to write it! It'll have a scene where Jimin and Yoongi arrive to one of Jimin's sons who confesses to jimin for the first time that he is gay and living with his partner. Yoonmin look at each other. Then look away

I'm thinking about yoongi, in his 70s reading in the local newspaper how some kids crashed drunk against a little yellow house he recognizes very well. Apparently they completely trashed the versa that was parked in the front. He wonders what the owner is doing without a car.

🍯Writing Tips🍯 This week we continue with types of writing descriptions, how to write descriptions, and what to avoid in descriptive writing⤵️ #btssgfests2 #btssgfestresources2 #btsfic #btsfest
Cream graphic with hexagons with different colors and header "Writing Tip Tuesday" followed by paragraph entitled "importance of writing descriptions". Rest of the text reads, "We learned that writing descriptions is tricky. It’s difficult to know what to include, and it requires a lot of research and mental energy to paint the right picture and make it interesting for the readers.

Although it’s such a dreadful task, descriptions are important in fiction because they:
1.Establish settings to create context.
2.Help to create tone and mood.
3.Draw attention to important symbols or themes.
4.Make writing more engaging.
5.Imply and help readers infer from the story.
6.Support plot and story development.
7.Distinguish and differentiate between story elements.
8.Evoke emotions or elicit empathy.

Types of description:
-Physical description: As the word itself, it includes elements of physicality such as, size, shape, color, texture, hardness, luminosity, volume. If describing characters, one may include: build, posture, gait, skin, voice, facial features, clothing, and body language." At the lower right corner reads, "guiding light fest."
Cream graphic with hexagons with different colors and header "Writing Tip Tuesday" followed by paragraph "Emotional description: Emotional description suggests a character's emotional state or mood. Voice and action contribute emotion too (and types of physical description such as posture or body language).

The common ways to show emotion include adverbs, actions, and deep pov where the readers are placed within the character’s psyche and see the action unfold before them to depict emotions.

The below examples explain each way to show emotion:
Adverbs: “Of course,” he said happily.
Actions: “Of course.” His smile reached all the way to his eyes.
Deep POV: He nodded along the words, body swaying even with no music.

-Historical description: Historical description is narrative that shows time and place. This type of description is used to create an authentic sense of a period or era and its notable features, changes and developments.

-Impressionistic description: This type of description is not as concerned with accurate (or rather literal) representation as it is with capturing the essence of the described thing. Impressionistic description relies on devices such as metaphor, metonymy, simile, personification and hyperbole." At the lower right corner reads, "guiding light fest."
Cream graphic with hexagons with different colors and header "Writing Tip Tuesday" followed by paragraph entitled "How to write descriptions correctly?" Rest of the text reads, "1. Start early. Set the scene early on - then nudge. Immediately inform the readers where the characters are, describe the setting (if needed and if it helps), and what’s going on around the character so the readers are immediately engaged. 2. Be specific! Details are important. They give readers a clear picture, guiding them where to look and what to look at. Create non-generic descriptions by using highly specific details and utilizing the language to evoke imagination. 3. Be selective with description details. Readers don’t like being overwhelmed. In the previous Writing Tip, we mentioned that less is more and make it worth reading. Not all readers will dive in and read two-pages of what a bar looks like. Instead, readers are after the atmosphere, the vivid language, and the mood of the setting. Sometimes, being accurate and informative isn’t necessary in the scene. 4. Write for all the senses Visuals are important, but don’t neglect the other senses. Offering a full range of sensory information will enhance your descriptive writing. Include the scent, the feeling, the texture, taste - these non-visual references matter so much because sight alone can feel a little distant, a little empty." At the lower right corner reads, "guiding light fest."
Cream graphic with hexagons with different colors and header "Writing Tip Tuesday" followed by paragraph entitled "What to avoid in descriptive writing:" Rest of the text reads, "When done wrong, descriptions can result in losing readers. Here are some things to avoid in writing descriptions:
1.Overused, on the nose or dead language. Unless it’s set in 20th century, or the setting of the fic is historical, avoid using words or phrases that feel cringey. There’s nothing wrong with applying trends if they fit, if anything, it can make the story relatable. ‘Tall, dark and handsome’ may be appealing if it’s in 1910.
2.Tautology (redundant words or phrases). Tautology is saying the same thing twice in different words. A 'pleonasm' is using more words than necessary to convey one meaning. For example, 'The shower's wet water was a relief after the day's grueling work.' The reader knows water is wet, so the adjective isn't needed in that sentence.

Lack of sensory details. Effective descriptive writing involves the senses: Sight, touch, sound, smell, even taste. This isn't to say that every sentence has to draw on all of the senses, but if the reader never hears or feels the touch of anything, the story's world could read more drab and nondescript.
    Telling far more than showing
    Stereotyping or generalizing

Next week, we’ll learn how to describe characters, and more on Show don’t tell and why stories actually need both." At the lower right corner reads, "guiding light fest."
