In related news, neither of the #GenHour feeds were performing particularly well but I have moved the #GenHour 2 Feed to Graze, and tweaked it so it picks up #AncestryHour posts too! With a 2 minute lag it might still not be the best way to follow the chats ‘live’ but will be good for catching up!

Key to Street Numbers in NYC, published in the 1940s "to find what street is nearest, take the street num[b]er, cancel the last figure, divide by 2, add or subtract key number found below. The result will be the nearest street."

#AncestryHour Example: in my book database, the developer has a separate "wantlist view" which is different from the main book catalog. I use it some of the time, but the format of the wantlist page is different from the main catalog so when I transfer a wanted book to the main database ...

#AncestryHour ... I have to do a lot of cleanup, which irks me. So instead I have pre-orders in the main database with a status of Pre-Ordered, and when I want to view the list of pre-orders, I filter the entries and view only those. It's easier that way to catalog the book before it arrives.

#AncestryHour I have nothing so interesting to report! I have been on the phone yelling at one of my email providers for cutting off our email access for three weeks and throwing all our email away while we were cut off. It should be fixed now but it took them 2 1/2 weeks to restore us.

#AncestryHour Several operating systems ago, I had a copy of the program Goldmine, which is a contact management package designed for salespeople. What I wanted, and still want, is a contact manager designed for purchasing, not sales, to keep track of orders.

#AncestryHour I wish someone would make something like Goldmine, and design a project manager / correspondence manager for #genealogy research. Because just putting notes in our genealogy software and logs is not sufficient. Goldmine connects all the other software like email and spreadsheets.

#AncestryHour I use Scrivener to track what I'm thinking about ordering and what I have already ordered. As certificates come in, I move the index cards to a folder showing they have been delivered.
