3/3 I know this is almost certainly gonna help me long-term with my TMJ pain, bruxism, and tinnitus, and I’m fortunate to be able to afford this care… but I can’t help but to whine about it just a lil’ bit 🤣

This is promising to read. I have been having a hard time with migraines and tinnitus that might be related to tmj and I'm planning on talking to my dentist about it.

I tried one of them sensory deprivation tanks somewhat recently. Was expecting some kinda psychedelic trip. Maybe something to help open and/or expand my mind. Instead, I turned into a prune and became even more intimately familiar with my tinnitus. And walked away with a feeling of “This is […]

Out Friday. Forest Tinnitus finds a way into your skull with layered synthesizers and Laplante's bizarre horror soundtracks. Let him lead the way down this dirt trail, through mossy trees and fern groves, where there's no sounds of humanity except for the ringing in your ears. #Unfurled #synthsperia

Wrong podcasts, perhaps. It’s hypocritical coming from me; with my tinnitus, I have to force myself to listen & prefer reading. Just saying, there might be less mispronunciation compared to back in the day. Sometimes it’s a regional pride thing, but it’s definitely about social exposure in any case

Sorry for no stream today. It has been a wild one. Ear problems coming back and having me unable to hear for a few hours into the building site behind us having an extremely HIGH PITCHED tinnitus esque alarm that went off for a good two more hours. My head has not been in it today LOL. Tomorrow!

Also it's the first time in 14 months of tinnitus that I'll be without white noise, and it's going to suck very badly

I’ve seen em a few times before that show and they were always loud but the show in bk was turned up to 11. No complaints other than the tinnitus that I’ve had since I was 11.

My mom, who also has hashimoto's, keeps texting me "Hey Amanda, do you have [ symptom ]?" "Yeah? For like 4-5 years." "Turns out that's a symptom of having Hashimoto's." "... is who we are just 50% an immune disorder?" anyway, this time it was tinnitus

I've had tinnitus really bad for around 25 years or so. Today I learned it is much more prevalent in neurodivergent people. Autism, ADHD, and auditory processing go hand-in-hand quite often. I asked google about it, and in case it affects anyone else, here's what I found-

“using mice we’ve found a specific brain circuit involving serotonin that goes straight to the auditory system, and found that it can induce tinnitus-like effects. When we turned that circuit off, we were able to ameliorate the tinnitus significantly” edm.com/lifestyle/ne... #tinnitus #keeplistening

The findings mirror the experiences of people who report that serotonin-elevating drugs like SSRIs worsen their tinnitus, according to researchers.

I’ve had tinnitus and mild hearing loss since an event at a horrible tiny boxy venue around age 21 or something, and it’s been all the more important to protect what hearing I have left. I wish I’d protected my hearing from the beginning.
