I actually did not like Metroid Prime 4 or Bananza as much as I wish I did 😂 but Legends Z-A, Age of Imprisonment, Mario Tennis Fever, and the upcoming Fire Emblem and Splatpon games have me very intrigued tbh.

In other news, there's a real weird pedigree of Rock Singers making Shooter Games. I remember wanting so hard to love the Kiss Metroidvania Shooter that came out in the 2000s

If anyone misses playing the game but aren't into the "run button" or item select menu, I can't recommend Super metroid Redux Enough:
It's pretty much the same game but with GBA controls and a hard mode. Cool way to make the classic feel new again <3

32 years ago, Super Metroid was released on the Super NES.
It was the first game I bought on "day one" and with my own money.
It still has one of the best moments EVER in a Nintendo game, in its climax, which, like all of the game other than the intro, does not need dialogue.

Cool upgrades, good combat, and really creative dungeons. Unsighted scratches that Metroid and classic Zelda game itch; I was very impressed with it. I also loved the amount of little mechanics that weren't immediately explained. Like, "dang, I was able to do that this whole time?"

i think the problem with soulslike as a genre arises when people start using it to define "literally anything at all that feels like dark souls" like with hollow knight, which shares basically 0 core mechanics but "it's sad, there's a lot of lore, and you have to recollect your souls when you die"

My console roulette wheel decreed that I should make a start on a Gamecube game.
Metroid Prime 2 is the only instalment of the original trilogy that I haven't played, so it makes sense to get that out the door.

Super Metroid is so good that it remained my favorite game of all time from a year after release to 2023. It actually might be the only game that comes close to being actually perfect.
