मार्गशीष माह के शुक्ल पक्ष की एकादशी तिथि 1 दिसंबर को मोक्षदा एकादशी के रूप में मनाई जाएगी। इस दिन शिववास योग का भी संयोग है। ज्योतिर्विद पंडित महेश श्रीमाली ने बताया कि मान्यताओं के अनुसार इस दिन विशेष योग में किए दान, धर्म, कर्म, स्नान, जप और तप का फल 100 गुना अधिक मिलता है। शास्त्रों में मोक्षदा एकादशी को सभी एकादशियों में सर्वश्रेष्ठ बताया है। इसका व्रत विशेष है, जिसका सबसे बड़ा महत्व यह है कि इस दिन श्री कृष्ण ने अर्जुन को गीता का उपदेश दिया था। जिसे गीता जयंती के रूप में मनाया जाता है। मान्यता है कि कुरुक्षेत्र के मैदान में इसी दिन श्रीकृष्ण ने अर्जुन को जीवन, धर्म और कर्म का वह अद्भुत ज्ञान दिया था, जिसे आज हम श्रीमद्भगवद्गीता के रूप में जानते हैं।
