I get why they were dogmatic about this, and I think they should continue to do so, but debouncing is too specific yet common that it was needed. And it makes perfect sense, as it is just a `Resource<T>` in the end. Continuous GET derivations of resources would make sense for signal/async overlap.

And as a fun aside to today's awesome compute shader work . . . I got camera moving. Which means I have a functioning link between Angular Chromium Embedded Framework and C++. I have an html/css UI on Vulkan and they talk to each other.

Great for displayWith functions, for stuff like typeaheads. I shouldn't need to make class fields for a typeahead's display and value mapping functions. And they really limited the scope of these on purpose. I have yet to see any of these in the wild that is overly complex for view logic.

Since Angular 22, we can use arrow functions inside templates, which I feel should actually be a very welcome change. Are you already using it? #Angular #WebDev #TypeScript #Frontend

<!-- a terrible way of using it -->
@for (todo of todos().filter(t => !t.done); track todo.id) {
  <app-todo [todo]="todo" />
}

<!-- an actually good way of using it -->
<button (click)="todos.update(list => list.map(t => ({ ...t, done: true })))">
  Mark all done
</button>

Does programmatically rendering components really make sense now that we have `defer`? What would be a realistic use case now? One I can think of is directives showing other components on demand, although IDK if this is now considered a good practice #Angular #WebDev #TypeScript
@Directive({
  selector: '[appTooltip]',
  host: { '(mouseenter)': 'show()', '(mouseleave)': 'vcr.clear()' },
})
export class TooltipDirective {
  text = input.required<string>({ alias: 'appTooltip' });
  protected vcr = inject(ViewContainerRef);

  show() {
    this.vcr.createComponent(Tooltip, { bindings: [inputBinding('text', this.text)] });
  }
}

Vibing an Angular app with Gemini 4 Argon. This is my AGENTS.md so far. Pleasant to see the model is very consistent in instruction following. Should my stream be about building an Angular app with Argon? #Angular #Gemini #AIAgents #WebDev
Screenshot of an AGENTS.md file with 9 rules for an Angular project: 1. Single-file components only (inline template and styles, no separate .html or .css/.scss files). 2. Strict file length limit: no file over 120 lines of code. 3. No cheating on that rule with lumped commands or stupid shorthand names; break files down reasonably. 4. Use directives for DOM manipulation, event handling, reusable UI logic, and permission or auth checks. 5. Prefer signal composition over effect for derived state; use effect only for side effects. 6. One name per file: a single declaration per file. 7. No inline SVGs; use SVG icon components. 8. Code that is edited together lives together: group related files by feature, not by file type. 9. Feature folders: a folder for small named things is fine, but more than 2 services and 3 components means the feature is too big.

I did not expect this to grow so much 😆 A bit over a year ago I decided to start livestreaming, and now we have more than 50 videos, dozens of amazing guests (some of them liked it so much they came for another one 😉) and thousands of viewers
Thanks for tuning in! youtube.com/@AngularSpaceMeetup. The official pink-to-purple Angular logo floats in the middle of a purple space nebula, with the Angular Space TV logo and X, YouTube, Twitch and LinkedIn icons on the left.
