The Mastercard / Visa pitch to the masses in Brazil & India is really something: sure it's cool that you already have a nationwide free instant payment system on your phone, but wouldn't you rather have our card & fees so that you might eventually get access to a really crowded airport lounge?

This is about Brazilian labour reform - ending the “6x1” schedule, where people work six days and get one day off. Everyone is celebrating a move toward a shorter workweek / two days off, and crediting Lula’s government for backing it. 🥳
