5 days agoProblem with that is that a religion will build itself around it in order for some to gain possession of power and influence. See: a lot of yogic cults that formed in the post-Beatlemania US in the 70s and 80s.

Buddhism, Zen Taoism, yoga, Tantra, vedanta they won't tell you not to have desires. They show how to NOT get overly attached to them. There's a HUGE difference! However in the west, there is a very bad dysfunction of using polarized dualistic thinking/reacting, which stops capacity to understand.
