It's based on his recent @ausjpolsci.bsky.social article which you can read open access. Francesco has been doing excellent work over the past couple of years, that is now coming to fruition. And there are some VERY cool new things in his publishing pipeline... www.tandfonline.com/doi/f….

CNMC, the 🇪🇦 Competition Authority has recently published a quite positive report on HSR liberalisation. Maybe something comparable is available about 🇮🇹 (@chittimarco.bsky.social @ogilvie.org.uk probably know more) Open Access in 🇬🇧 remains ancillary, so not easy to draw conclusions.

It was SNCF that resisted franchising of TGV services because it thought that an all-Open Access arrangement, which is what they have now (even where they are the only operator), had higher barriers to entry for competitors.

I think the commentaries are a mix of closed/open access, guessing by looking at author institution that it's based on institutional open access agreements with Sage

wait did SSS seriously only make the Collins et al article and reply open access with the commentaries in between all closed? like I get how that could happen with this publisher and who is going to pay an exorbitant APC for a reply/comment but that is A Look.

Get the family out of Gaza while they're still alive to evacuate. All that "ceasefire" means is "pause to reload/rearm". Aid has not had open access & even when it's allowed in, Israeli snipers shoot those who come to the distribution sites. Pls RS/QS. Pls do what you can. #HelpFolksLive2025

In Gaza, life breaks even the strongest people Two years of waiting for things to get better but everything keeps getting harsher We’re just trying to stay alive in a place that shows no mercy Your support is the only thing that can change our reality even one step at a time Please donate and share🙏

When is the @erc.europa.eu going to undo its inane Open Access policies? Present system funnels money to corporations. Far better if they subsidized journals and book series housed within *not for profit* university presses - open to anyone who got into them, not just to randos who won the lottery.

Reminds me of my community college comp. lab. We always had to put a reason when we signed in but nobody ever walked in and monitored regularly nor was able to check remotely (they'd later claim they did but it was clear they didn't) so you could put whatever and then have open access.

Gifting reminder: do not buy Ring cameras, Echos, Tiles, or anything else that plugs into Amazon's Sidewalk system for your friends. Amazon is explicitly constructing a national surveillance system using these tools that law enforcement has free and open access to.
