Ok, managed to get this working. Aside from the physical wiring, there's actually nothing to be done at all! All the software is already installed as part of the Pico plugin for Visual Studio. I just needed to enter the debug view, and run with the debugger. Everything else is automatic.

Copilot is the worst of all the AI products I’ve used. ChatGPT is somewhat better, but Codex integrated with Visual Studio Code is hands down the best I’ve used. I have heard good things about Claude, but I have no experience with it.
