@zohrankmamdani.bsky.social Good Evening Mayor Elect Mamdani, is there any possibility of u taking up the URGENT & IMPORTANT issue of 'the hidden homeless' (especially 'seniors' in Bklyn, NY)? I'm talking about the 1's NOT in shelters, but sleeping on some 1's couch NOW, who need an apt & a voucher.

>It was pure DC, Marvel and fake (sold out) 'indies' in a tiny section behind FUNKO 💩. I asked if we could get indies in they looked at me like the homeless insane who smear their 💩on the windows...like trying to get my zines in "We support local authors" bookstores. The comics world is pure>>

Signs point to US war w Venezuela. Maybe regime change? How have past Latin Amer regime changes by US turned out? History shows US has track record of leaving chaos, civil wars, poverty & northward migration in wake of LA govt coups. Did anyone vote for this? theintercept.com/2025/11/….

"if housing the homeless makes more Torontonians feel safer in their neighbourhoods, then simply add it to the long list of reasons our leaders should be making that an urgent priority." - @thekeenanwire.bsky.social www.thestar.com/opinion/s….

Edward Keenan: Serious crime is down in Toronto. So what are we really worried about?

The recent period of relatively low violence in the city has been remarkable — yet it hasn’t been much remarked upon.

Never claimed to be rich. Just removed enough from poverty after having lived it to know the difference between poverty, "comfort," and wealth. Being out of poverty enables one to create backup plans so we don't return to it, and what to do if we find ourselves back in it.

Anyone making $400K a year should easily be able to save up $1.5M. That's not, however, enough to retire on at 37 without the sugar daddy. Not only that, no one should be making $400K a year unless they are curing cancer or Alzheimer's disease, abolishing poverty, etc. Working at Google? No.

The secret to early retirement; dine out rarely, fly economy and be a Google employee making $390,000/year married to a fellow Google employee 17 years older than you who likely makes twice as much as you.

Maybe you care about expanding health care for the most vulnerable among us. The fight for fair maps is your fight. Perhaps you’re passionate about eliminating child poverty and ensuring every family can put food on their table. Then the fight for fair maps is your fight.

Eating leftovers, not having a cup of coffee, sewing your own clothes as though you have time and skill are all Imperialist propaganda "money saving hacks" designed to make poverty your fault and suffering without comforts or easements your moral duty.

''Today[.]the majority of people living in extreme poverty are concentrated in sub-Saharan Africa[...]places where economic growth has been weak, volatile, or nonexistent[..]remaining pockets of extreme poverty are concentrated in places where our usual engines of progress barely turn over at all.''
