(fwiw, I was fully prepared to sigh and consign Brubaker to the pile of discarded comics men and lament at my TPB shelves, but reading the legal stuff today it's difficult not to see his accuser as a sadly self-deluded chancer out to earn a buck?)
Thank God someone's finally standing up for the group who has suffered most in comics. Men. I'm a fan of Brubaker who thinks there's a real chance he's innocent. But when it comes to "online mobs," far more women & minority & LGBTQ+ creators have been mercilessly harassed online than white dudes.
A mostly invisible force shaping politics in the Trump era—esp since 2025—is his ability to summon threats of violence & death against his opponents to such a degree it's become a material factor in political actors' decision making. I think a good term for this is "stochastic brownshirtism."
