#EdTravCyc and pedestrians: it is now possible to walk round the back of the Constitution/Baltic St junction, through Tower St, which now joins up with the new Margaret Thomson Cres, leading through to Bath Rd opposite Salamander Pl, avoiding a little bit of the unpleasant Baltic and Salamander St

#EdTravCyc I'd give the Innocent Tunnel a miss just now if you're heading uphill/towards St Leonard's (and hold your breath going downhill) - brain-dissolving quantities of spraycan solvent filling the air of the upper two-thirds.

New(ish) bidirectional cycleway being altered already for new housing access to housing near Granton Gasholder. Disappointing “dismount” signage being used rather than “do not overtake cycles” on carriageway?
Otherwise planting along route looking great 🌾🪻🌿

Think this improves the link to/from N Gyle Terrace along north side of A8 as part of QR9.

#EdTravCyc It is now possible to cycle south along Restalrig Road without having to dodge the same holes and ruts that have been there for at least sixteen years. Not sure what we're supposed to do with these daft wee lane markings, though.

#EdTravCyc Duncan Place closed for resurfacing at the crossing points. The cycle lane crossing leading to Links Lane/Wellington Place currently not passable without using footways and non-dropped kerbs. Possibly divert via Links Gardens?

Careful of the bike racks at Morrisons on Ferry Rd, Edinburgh - a couple of them can be lifted right out of the paving.

about 1 month ago #EdTravCyc @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike @robbieainsworth.bsky.social Newbattle Terrace closed between Canaan Lane and Whitehouse Loan for SPEN? roadworks? Still cyclable but signage just for cars saying diversion needed. Much safer exit from Canaan Lane as a benefit for cycles.

about 1 month ago #EdTravCyc @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike ⚠️ caution ⚠️ needed on North Bridge headed north. So many raised ironworks and no obvious warning signs (to me at least) could be lethal on a bike if not aware.
Also amount of tarmac and road width being reinstated is crazy! No cycle provision or widened pavements

Holyrood Park: fire service to remain 'for a couple days'.
Current exclusion zone includes Queens Drive and path to Dumbiedykes and Holyrood Gait. It's possible to access Holyrood Rd through the parliament grounds.

Word of warning for cycling around Harrison Park. The Harrison Road bridge over the canal is now fully closed except for the footpath due to new works. It's not clearly signed if you are used to it being open for bikes. Have seen a couple of cyclists almost crash in to the heras fencing @edi.bike

The new two way bike lane on Great Junction St was blocked by both roadworks and big black wheeled garbage bins at 08.00 am on Sunday morning; cycled past on the pavement :( it wasn't safe to stop to get a picture. #edTravCyc
