What's striking here is that X's balancing algorithm usually makes this kind of note VERY hard to get approved, since supporters using Community Notes would vote it down. The fact a quorum was reached is interesting.

Oof that’s a rough community note.

RFK Jr. decries conflicts of interest and industry input on scientific research; ignoring, of course, the conflicts of his own handpicked minions. Yet as he continues to cut federal research funding, he is essentially forcing scientists to apply for alternative funding, including from industry.

unless you’re making a conceptual art project or a shrine to a theoretical idea, decentralization is an impure means to an end and not a worthwhile pursuit in its own right

An interesting and timely look at Mark Carney and the Canadian oligarchic systems that are threatening our democracy. Can we avoid the trajectory that the United States is taking? It’s an important question that we need to seriously grapple with.

Is Mark Carney Canada’s Franklin Delano Roosevelt? Could he be? Canada's incumbents (banks, miners, etc) are our Gilded Age oligarchs. The worst of the bunch are oil companies and their captured politicians like @ABDanielleSmith. #ableg #cdnpoli markhamhislop.substack.com/p/is-mark-ca...

The Trump regime has fired an estimated 70 immigration judges since February. This is happening as immigration courts face a record backlog of cases. Remember: it was never about legal immigration. It was always about cruelty.

“I think most don’t realize how hard it is to immigrate legally to the United States,” says former senior policy official @margyoh.bsky.social. She explains other surprising facts about the immigration system in a wide-ranging new Q&A:
