The Willett Legacy

The lights moved across Gigi’s face as she danced, catching the bright mischief in her eyes, and Sora felt herself laughing again, the sound rising naturally over the music as Gigi grabbed her hands and spun her back into the rhythm, enjoying the rest of their night. #KaiGen4

Gigi didn’t respond as she rose and dragged her to the dance floor. It was crowded enough that they had to weave between people to find a space. Sora followed, letting the music fill her thoughts, and soon the familiar rhythm began to work its way through her, loosening her shoulders. #KaiGen4

Gigi leaned forward across the little table, her expression becoming unexpectedly serious beneath the club’s orange glow. “I get it. You love him, but he’ll need to accept that you know what’s best for yourself and support you.” #KaiGen4

Gigi rolled her eyes again, though this time the gesture seemed directed more at the idea of Sora worrying herself into knots than at Kai himself. “Ugh, who cares?” Sora turned toward her with a deadpan expression. “I do. We have each other’s backs in everything.” #KaiGen4

Gigi blinked at her, then made a face of such immediate disgust. “Ew.” “Don’t. I can only insult him, and he is great. If you ever meet him, don’t tell him I said that.” Gigi looked unconvinced, but Sora continued before she could interrupt. “I just don’t want to ruin our relationship.” #KaiGen4

“No, I’m just thinking about my brother. He’s going to flip out when he learns I’m about to be leader.” Gigi raised an eyebrow. “Why? He’s protective?” Sora let out a quiet, humorless laugh. “Yeah… and he’s a cop.” #KaiGen4

Her smile faded when she found herself wondering how long it would take before Kai heard the news. “Don’t tell me you get sad drunk,” Gigi said, sounding only half amused as she leaned a little closer. #KaiGen4

Sora’s smile turned immediately mischievous. “He begged to come with, but I had to be firm,” she said, making a show of lifting her glass to her lips. “And I promised a performance when I get home. He loves when I'm a little tipsy.” #KaiGen4

Gigi rolled her eyes. “Please. Knowing you, you never skip an opportunity to dress up.” Her gaze travelled appreciatively over Sora’s outfit, lingering on the dress and the confident way she wore it, and she gave a small nod of approval. “Bet Connor had something to say about that dress.” #KaiGen4
