I was speaking with @vickyweberbooks.bsky.social recently about what I’m looking for in my inbox, so I thought I’d share my MSWL here too.☺️ Here are some things I’d love to see: 🐉 Non-Western Epic fantasy like N.K. Jemisin, Andrea Stewart, Shelley Parker-Chan, Rebecca Roanhorse, Marlon James 1/?

I'm sorry, but AI-generated #mswl lists for me are often wrong. I've seen ones that include genres I don't typically represent, because the AI picked up on a different agent who does represent that. Argh!

Every part of your query helps me fully consider. In a synopsis, I'm checking to see if there are large plot holes, thin character arcs, etc. This helps me understand the level of work your manuscript might need before going on submission.

I made an update to my agent site (sarahnfisk . Com) that I want to draw your attention to!
This page was last updated on 10/12/26

I have responded to all queries sent before 1/31/26, but still have a handful of fulls

In 2026, I will be open to queries the first five days of each-month!

(Highlighted and circled:) I will close to queries in 2027 until i am able to catch up. Reminder: I read and respond to every query.

I'm starting to get novel submissions that seem to have been rewritten and polished using AI. All I can say is -- please, don't. It's not just making your prose less original, it also may interfere with copyright. Good writing comes from practice, keeping at it, and not giving up.
